So after trying for a number of years to get a place on the London Marathon via the ballot, I have one.
So a “few” months of running coming up then.

So just went out and completed my first ever mid working day run, seemed a bit odd to head out of the office, get changed and then plod out to the park…. luckily for my work colleagues we have showers at the office so upon my (eventual) return I could sort myself out before settling back if for the afternoon stint, certainly one way of avoiding the post lunch lull.
(did 40 minutes, as I’m switching my training to time based, no idea about HR as the battery in my chest strap has died)
run dave, run
and so this morning i did….
- woke up, i ached, i thought i’d just do a short lap of the park 25 minutes or so….
- got to the top of the park and thought, i’ll do a quick pass over primrose hill, not done it for a while and it’s a nice morning….
- got to the top and thought, well it’s going well, so i’ll go down the other side and along the back of the park and then back over….
- and so i did and in the end had a very nice if not so short run, it was certainly my first distance run since the 10k.
some days it just works….
run dave, run
well, the training is done (yesterdays hangover has gone) and this time tomorrow the race will be done…
i’ve just tied the timing chip on to my shoe (number CR09703) and now i’m starting to wonder why i’m bothering, will anyone really care if i do run 10k ?
and Good Luck!!
