so just completed and submitted my tax return online using the inland revenue website, actually pretty easy to do, and it would seem that i should get some money back as an added bonus (although i’m sure that will take longer to get back to me than it took for them to demand it!)

quite nice having got that out of the way (and a few other bits of personal admin)

now to relax and enjoy the weekend, thinking about going for a skate, but i might just read a book instead and listen to some music….

so got home last night after a pleasant cycle home and there is a letter from the inland revenue waiting for me, they are, it would seem demanding my first tax payment for 2003/04, which is nice, and seeing as i haven’t done my tax return is a bit cunning of them, no idea what they based the figure on (and certainly no indication given)

so i thought, right, i’ll sort out my tax return and file it online, that should sort out the figures and also get me out of paying them (long story all based around tax issues from the cozai days) as i’ve been earning and paying tax on a week 1 basis i thought i might have covered some of my missing tax…

no chance, i owe somewhere in the region of 3k (having taken into account payments made last year via paye) which, of course i just having lying around in case…

*cough*

so i thought that as i had done the figures i might as well file my tax return online, except i can’t as although i paid my return last year online i don’t have the right kind of account to file my tax return, so i have to apply for one and wait until i get my activation code sometime in the next 7 days (postperson allowing)

still i guess that’s one of the years chores out of the way and means i have a chance to save the required amount up…
