There are lies, damn lies and battery life figures

So here I am taking a break from working from home, to work in my local (ish) coffee republic which offers free wifi, average coffee and a medicore bite to eat, I’ve been using my conputer for 50 minutes and have 58 minutes of battery life left.  According the Apple website I should be able to get up to five hours of life, now of course that will be with all radio’s off etc but I’m using the better battery life video card in my laptop, I’ve got the keyboard light off and the screen on the lowest setting, yes I’m using the WiFi but bluetooth is off and I still don’t get two hours of life, fucking joke.  Wonder what the real world battery life of the 17″ MBP is? probably no where near the claimed eight hours (if it is, I might get one!)

    Your battery sounds fucked, I’d have a chat with apple if I were you.

    I’ve never managed to get more than 3 hours out of my Macbook and certainly nowhere near what it’s meant to do. I suppose you get better numbers with wifi off but that’s not a very 21st century concept!
