Welcome to my little piece of the internet, nothing special here, a place where I can play with the things my job no longer gives me the time to (or the need on a lot of levels) and where I add to the clutter of mindless rambling that forms the part that isn’t p0rn and news on the web.
This is the fourth incarnation of this site from a technical point of view, the first having been hosted on blogger, the second and third using moveabletype and this, the fourth, using drupal.
The number of “designs” to the site are numerous, none of them good, all of them clearly created by someone with no design skills whatsoever, thankfully you can do more “design” in css these days and its been quite interesting to have played with it over the last few years, now with the latest version I should be able to change the way the site looks a lot easier and faster, of course this doesn’t mean it will actually be any better, although right now, I’m just using one of the themes that you can add to the system. (yes, very lazy)
One of the reasons for switching to drupal is that I wanted to do more with the site than just host a boring blog and some photos that I occasionally update, there are also a few other sites I need to update now (well certainly manage and put useful tools on to)
And now we’ve moved on, this site is now hosted in Word Press which is allowing me even more time to ignore the site as the updating engine is pretty much seamless and everything pretty much works. One day, no really, I will find the time to do something more with this site, until then it shall remain an infrequently updated blog with the links into my social sites and flickr….
