June 2013
Compared with May 2013
So June, by my standards at least, was something of a productive month. Five activities totalling just over two and a half hours of actual movement, which I'll take. The highlight was probably getting back on the bike for a Morning Ride — 14.9 kilometres, 107 metres of climbing, and apparently 13 achievements and 2 personal records, which feels generous but I'm not going to argue with the algorithm. The bulk of the month was running though, four sessions covering 18.3 kilometres at an average of 6 minutes 25 per kilometre (so, comfortable but not exactly setting the roads alight).
So compared to May, which was a fairly dismal two runs and 7.5 kilometres total, June was a marked improvement — more than double the distance and nearly three times the time on my feet. The longer days presumably helped, because there's something deeply unappealing about dragging yourself out in the dark that the prospect of a bright June morning does at least partially address. The pace is almost identical month on month, which tells me I'm running consistently if nothing else (consistently steady, let's say). The question now is whether I can carry this into July, or whether life will once again conspire to make the sofa the path of least resistance.
