April 2015
Compared with March 2015
So, April. One ride. Thirty-six minutes on Zwift, indoors, going precisely nowhere. I'd love to tell you there's some grand strategic reason behind what can only be described as the most restrained month of training I've had in a while, but honestly, sometimes life just gets in the way and the legs don't follow. Fifteen-odd kilometres covered, which is the kind of number that looks slightly less embarrassing if you don't dwell on it too long — so I won't.
The frustrating thing is that March had actually shown some promise, with seven rides and a run logged, totalling the best part of three and a half hours of effort. Admittedly that run — a fairly pedestrian 3.2km at a pace that suggests I was either very tired or very cautious — wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire, but it was something. So to go from eight sessions down to one, in April of all months, when the weather is supposedly turning and there's really no excuse not to get outside, is a trajectory that needs addressing. Here's hoping May is rather more convincing.
