So December, then. Seventeen activities logged, 186 minutes of actual movement, and if you're doing the maths you'll notice that the overwhelming majority of that was on a bike — specifically a Boris Bike, grinding through London commutes rather than anything you'd call purposeful training. Sixteen rides covering 38.5 km somehow produced 27 achievements and 13 PRs, which tells you more about how low the bar had been set than any sudden upturn in form. The sole run of the month was a solitary morning outing — 6.5 km at 7:02 per kilometre, which is the kind of pace that suggests I was either very cold, very tired, or both (almost certainly both).

Comparing December with November is a slightly uncomfortable exercise. November at least had two runs and a marginally more respectable 21 activities across the month, though 129 total active minutes versus December's 186 flatters me only because Boris Bike commutes apparently rack up time rather efficiently. The honest read is that as the weather turned properly grim and the days shortened to almost nothing, any ambition beyond getting to work and back quietly evaporated. So going into the new year I'm essentially starting from scratch, which is a familiar enough position that I've at least stopped being surprised by it.
