July, then. Six activities, 132 minutes of actual moving — which sounds modest because it is. Four rides and two runs, split fairly evenly in terms of time if not exactly a punishing schedule. The rides were a mix of morning and evening outings, totalling just over 18km with a fairly relaxed average heart rate of 114, which suggests I was either taking it easy or had genuinely become very efficient (the former, almost certainly). The two runs came in at just over 10km combined, though I'll take the one achievement Strava kindly awarded me and not ask too many questions about what the bar was set at.

So compared to June, the drop-off is fairly stark — 12 activities and 240 minutes down to 6 and 132, with my running particularly taking a hit (8 runs in June versus 2 in July, which is the kind of maths that's hard to put a positive spin on). You'd think summer would help, and in theory the long evenings and dry weather should have me out every other morning, but apparently not. The pace did improve slightly — 6:46 per kilometre versus 7:53 in June — so the runs I did manage were at least a bit sharper, which is either encouraging or just means I was running shorter. Going into August, the honest goal is simply more of it.
