April was a decent month, all things considered. Seventeen activities and just over five hours of moving — which for me, at this time of year, feels almost respectable. The split was heavily weighted towards the bike, with eleven rides covering just shy of 51 kilometres, which suggests I've finally remembered that cycling is something I own equipment for. The running was the real highlight though — four runs, 20 kilometres, and somehow seven PRs, including a Parkrun down at Tilgate Park that I was quietly pleased with (even if the bar I'd previously set for myself was, admittedly, not a particularly high one).

So comparing April to March is where it gets interesting, or at least mildly encouraging. March was thirteen activities and just under four hours, with six of those being pool swims — which tells you everything you need to know about what the weather was doing and how enthusiastic I was about going outside. April, mercifully, seems to have brought slightly less miserable conditions and rather more motivation to actually get on the bike or lace up the trainers, and the numbers reflect that. The swim volume dropped off a cliff, which I'm choosing to frame as "focusing my efforts" rather than "couldn't be bothered." Going forward, the aim is to keep the momentum — though I've said that before, usually just before a run of long weeks at the office derails everything.
