So November turned out to be a busier month than I probably had any right to expect, with 25 activities and just over eight hours of moving about in total. The running dominated, as it tends to — 18 runs, 53.8 kilometres, and somehow eight Strava achievements along the way, five of which were on the treadmill (so make of that what you will). The cycling took a back seat with just four rides and under 20 kilometres covered around Horsham, which feels about right when you consider what November looks like at 6am. A couple of pool swims snuck in too, which at least means I haven't completely abandoned the idea of being a well-rounded athlete.

Comparing it to October is actually quite encouraging, if I'm honest, which doesn't happen often. The running volume jumped from 37.8km to 53.8km, and my average pace improved from 6:13 per kilometre down to 5:51 — so the legs are clearly doing something right, even if the brain hasn't quite caught up yet. The cycling dropped off a cliff, mind you, down from 13 rides and 62 kilometres to just four, which I'm going to blame entirely on the weather and not at all on the sofa. So the shape of things is shifting — more running, less everything else — which either means I'm building nicely towards something or quietly becoming a one-sport person. Probably worth figuring out which before December arrives.
