So June, then. 63 activities and just under 48 hours of moving around, which sounds impressive until you realise a decent chunk of that was walking to the end of the road and back (124 kilometres of walking, mind you, so at least I'm consistent). The running was the highlight though — 13 runs, 140 kilometres, and a pace averaging 5:18 per kilometre, which for me in the summer heat is genuinely not embarrassing. I even dragged myself out for a run to the (winter) parkrun, which felt like a small act of optimism given that parkrun itself was still very much not happening. Thirty-seven PRs across the month, which either means I'm getting fitter or that Strava's definition of a personal record has become increasingly generous (probably both).

Compared to May, the overall volume was actually down — 68 activities to 63, and 3,210 minutes to 2,881 — but the running kilometres crept up from 130.6 to 140.3, which is the bit that matters. Joe Wicks featured rather less (down from 25 workout sessions to 15), which I'd like to attribute to the longer evenings and a shift toward getting outside more, rather than any dip in motivation (it was absolutely a dip in motivation). The FiiT workouts and a couple of kettlebell sessions suggest I'm at least attempting something resembling strength work, which May's solitary kettlebell session certainly wasn't. So the direction of travel feels right — more running, slightly less living room cardio — and if I can hold that through July without finding reasons not to, something resembling a training base might actually emerge.
