So August turned out to be a fairly solid month, all things considered — 55 activities and just under 50 hours of moving around in various states of effort. The running was probably the highlight, with 12 sessions covering 141.8km at an average pace of 5:21 per kilometre, which I was reasonably happy with given the summer heat (British summer, so let's say *intermittent* heat). Racking up 36 PRs across the month was a pleasant surprise, though I'll confess some of those are almost certainly Strava finding new ways to congratulate me for things I didn't realise were achievements. The swimming finally picked up too, with five sessions and 11.7km in the pool, which felt long overdue after just the one swim back in July.

Comparing the two months, the numbers are actually pretty similar on the surface — July had 56 activities to August's 55, but August edged ahead on total time, 2,971 minutes versus 2,827, and the walking distance jumped noticeably from 146.7km to 157km, which I suspect says more about the longer evenings than any great burst of motivation. The weight training did take a hit, dropping from four sessions in July down to just one, which is the sort of thing I'm very good at noticing and less good at actually fixing. So going into September the plan, as always, is to keep the running base ticking over and quietly pretend the weight training situation will sort itself out.
