So February, then. Twenty-three activities and just under twenty hours of moving about, which on the face of it sounds reasonably industrious until you realise that the vast majority of that was walking — seventeen walks, covering 93-odd kilometres, which I'm choosing to count as training rather than just getting from A to B. The running was modest: five runs, roughly thirty kilometres across the month, averaging about five forty-three per kilometre, which is fine if you're not in a hurry (I wasn't). I did manage one PR in there somewhere, which I'll take, and a lone elliptical session that I suspect was more about avoiding the weather than any coherent cross-training plan.

So compared to January, it's a bit of a mixed picture. The running distance has crept up — twenty-one kilometres in January to nearly thirty in February — which is progress, even if the pace is essentially identical to three decimal places, suggesting I have found my one speed and am sticking to it. The walks dropped off considerably though, from thirty sessions and 168 kilometres down to seventeen and 93, which tells its own story about February in England (dark, wet, miserable, take your pick). Total active time fell from over thirty-one hours to under twenty, so the honest read is that I moved less overall. Going forward I'd like to call this a deliberate consolidation phase, though "consolidation" and "it was cold" often look remarkably similar from the outside.
