September was a reasonably solid month all things considered — 35 activities and just over 1,300 minutes of actual movement, which I'll take. The big shift was in the running, up to 13 sessions covering 63.6 km compared to August's 9 runs and 51 km, and I even managed to drag myself out for a Night Run and a Morning Run, which for me represents either growing dedication or a worrying lack of judgement about what constitutes a good time to exercise. The Night HIIT sessions continued to make their regular appearance too, five of them, though at an average heart rate of 117 bpm I'm not entirely sure I was working as hard as I should have been. The walking remained a constant — 17 outings, nearly 89 km and 909 metres of elevation, which is the kind of number that sounds impressive until you remember most of it was probably just not taking the bus.

So compared to August, the total minutes actually dropped — down from 1,463 to 1,311 — which is the sort of thing that's easy to blame on the nights drawing in and the mornings turning grey and damp, and honestly I probably will. The running pace stayed almost identical at 5:29 versus 5:30 per kilometre, which either means I'm beautifully consistent or stubbornly refusing to get any faster (I suspect the latter). What did improve was the elevation on the runs, up from a fairly flat 32 metres to 66 metres, so at least the routes are getting more interesting even if my legs aren't particularly grateful for it. Going into October I'd like to keep the run count climbing, though I'm aware I say that every month.
