November 2025
Compared with October 2025
November was a quieter month all round, which I'm going to attribute entirely to the weather and absolutely not to any lack of motivation on my part. I logged 39 activities across just under 35 hours of moving, split between eight HIIT sessions, eight runs, and a frankly heroic 23 walks totalling over 153 kilometres. The running dropped off noticeably — only 41.7km across the month compared to what I'd been building — and my pace slipped to 5:51 per kilometre, which tells its own story about how those Morning Runs were going when it's dark, damp, and the pavement is doing its best to remind you it exists. The HIIT sessions (all indoors, sensibly) kept the heart rate ticking over, even if 122 bpm average suggests I was perhaps not always giving them everything I had.
So, compared to October the numbers don't lie, and they're not especially flattering. October had 56 activities, over 47 hours active, 82 kilometres of running at a sharper 5:40 pace, and 12 HIIT sessions — all of which quietly makes November look like I was winding down for hibernation. To be fair to myself, the clocks going back and the mornings turning properly grim do have a way of making the sofa feel like a very reasonable training option. The walks held up well enough, which I'm choosing to interpret as evidence of consistent base fitness rather than me just going to the shops more often. The goal for December is to not let the slide continue, though I'm aware I say that every year around this time.
