to put my money where my mouth is (or something) so to that end, and also to help motivate me with the training here are my events for for (the rest of) this year:
750m Swim / 20Km Cycle / 5Km Run

at Dorney Lake
Windsor Half Marathon

10K
2nd September
so now all I need to do is get some training done, learn to swim (not drown) and maybe get the mountain bike serviced / replaced. Easy
